Warhunt(2022) Review

Synopsis: During World War II, a U.S. military cargo plane crashes behind enemy lines in Germany’s Black Forest. Maj. Johnson soon sends a squad of his bravest soldiers to retrieve the top-secret material from the wreckage. Venturing deep into the forest, the team discovers hanged Nazis and other bodies bearing ancient, magical symbols. Attacked by a powerful, supernatural force, the men soon find themselves in a fight for their lives as they try to uncover the shocking truth behind the unspeakable evil.

Warhunt plays out like a ‘70s low budget horror flick that also act like the poor man’s ‘Overlord’. It features an outstanding Jackson Rathbone(Twilight Saga) and Mickey Rourke who isn’t asked to do too much, however, he does help elevate the movie to a B-Horror type of film.

Warhunt would be a good rainy afternoon movie to watch when you don’t feel like going to the movies and just wanna find a simple movie to enjoy. It feels like a lot of the horror community has shut itself out from just enjoying a simple movie. It seems lately if it’s not groundbreaking people cannot enjoy a movie anymore.

This one is not supposed to make you think as some of the other elevated horror we’ve been watching over the years, it reminds me of a time where horror was just to get to point A to point B and Warhunt does that just fine. Though not a great movie it is quite enjoyable.
