It’s rare when we get a dystopian thriller romance movie that mixes well enough with horror elements that doesn’t go into soap opera territory. I’m glad to say Mother/Android is the real dead, where Chaos Walking failed earlier this year, this film succeeds.
Chloe Grace Moretz has been on a tour-de-force hot streak when it comes to genre films the past year including Shadow In The Cloud, she’s quickly becoming a staple in great indie genre films. That people should be paying attention to, Mother/Android doesn’t have the script to make it game changing but it does have the cast and supporting players to make it well worth your while.
If you’re a fan of dystopian films, Mother/Android should be the film for you to stream this week with Swan Song being rather disappointing, some parts of this film could be considered over-acted, however for the majority of the film it’s rather grounded.
Another thing I seemed to enjoy about Mother/Android was the ending, it was not a bubble gum happy-go-lucky ending. It was almost a realistic ending for the events that have taken place throughout the film.
