The other week we got to sit down with director Camille Griffin for her new film ‘Silent Night’ starring Keira Knightley and Roman Griffin Davis( ‘Jojo Rabbit’) along with Lily Rose-Depp(Tusk, Yogahosers).
AJ: Thank you so much for being here today Camille, how did Silent Night all come about?
Camille: Well, it all came about from a conversation with my kids about nuclear war.
AJ: Right, and when I was watching this, it kinda reminded me of this animated film ‘When The Wind Blows’ because you got these people blindly listens to the government about a nuclear bomb. And taking shelter. I don’t know if you’ve seen that or not.
Camille: Well, AJ I don’t know if you can see me but when you brought up When the Wind Blows I was gesturing excitingly. I remember watching that movie as a kid and being traumatized after I watched it, because I was familiar with the director and I thought “This is going to be like those other movies” and being completely wrong.
AJ: Right!!? I remember watching that with my dad recently and he was like “How can this even be considered a kids movie”
AJ: You ended up getting Roman from Jojo Rabbit and Lily Rose-Depp how was it like working with the younger actors on this film?
Camille: Well AJ, I don’t know if you knew this but Roman is actually my son, so I cuffed him to this project *laughs* and Lily was amazing as well as the other actors such as Lucy and Keria it was simply an wonderful time.
AJ: Well, Camille thanks again so much for joining us today, it was a real pleasure.
Camille: Thank you for having me and promoting this movie, and let’s go get traumatized by When The Wind Blows again.
