Yakuza Princess Review

Yakuza Princess, is one of the better action films out right now that is not already based on a superhero IP. Based off the graphic novel, Samurai Shiro by Danilo Beyruth. I for one never heard of the graphic novel but it may be worth checking out.

The movie is shot as an stylistic revenge thriller in the vein of John Wick, it’s clearly not as good as John Wick, however, if you’re like me and have to isolate yourself for two weeks Yakuza Princess is the best action film to rent off VOD right now. It features solid casting and acting from all involved as well.

Most of the times with movies on a lower scale like Yakuza Princess you can easily pick up on its short comings with budgetary issues. Here you cannot Vicente Amorim does an extraordinary job masking the movies flaws, while it still has some underwritten characters for instance. It remains a solid B-movie action thriller that will keep you entertained throughout.

If you find yourself pondering on what to watch this weekend as we’re all aware we are still in this pandemic, Yakuza Princess is well worth your investment.
