Werewolves Within review-the best video game adaptation ever

A snowstorm traps town residents together inside the local inn, where newly arrived forest ranger Finn and postal worker Cecily must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

Werewolves Within is by far the best video game adaptation made in the buffering world of big budgeting flops from big studios like World of Warcraft and Assassins Creed to name recent bombs. However, Sonic The Hedgehog put us on the right track of video game adaptations and the mindless fun Mortal Kombat movie that just came was super fun. So here we are with Josh Ruben’s follow up to the excellent Scare Me.

With his cast in Werewolves Within he managed to capture lightning in a bottle twice in a row, which is hard enough for any director and Josh should be put at the top of the future directors to watch list! Josh perfectly casted Sam Richardson as Finn a likable Forest Ranger that could hopefully put the troupe of black characters in a horror just as a plot device to bed. Also the AT&T woman Milana Vayntrub gives a breakthrough performance that is subtle and charismatic while dynamic all at the same time.

If you do not know by now Werewolves Within is a VR game, before this I also had no idea about this video before I saw Ubisoft’s logo in the opening title sequences, so I did a little digging myself and was surprised to see this as an R rated horror-comedy adaptation but Josh Ruben’s decision making with this offbeat witty comedic thriller makes it such a thrill to watch. If you live near any of the 250 screens this is playing on, do yourself a favor and check it out with a crowd.
