M. Night Shyamalan’s Old officially rated PG-13

News that does not come as a huge surprise is that M. Night Shyamalan’s new horror film Old has been slapped with a PG-13 rating, as his only R rated horror film The Happening keeps reminding us why we do not want him to do another R rated horror movie.

Here’s the reasoning behind the rating. Strong violence, disturbing images, suggestive content, partial nudity and brief strong language.

Here is what we have for the synopsis so far:

This summer, Shyamalan unveils a chilling, mysterious new thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly … reducing their entire lives into a single day.

Old also features an ensemble cast featuring the talents of Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.
