Pointing out Horror Homages in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

As you are all aware of The Conjuring is a huge box office success at the box office. Rather you love it or hate for it being about the Warrens. Let us try to entertainment from the people it’s based off while the Warrens have their own fair share of controversy. The Conjuring is a hugely entertaining franchise.

First off- The Exorcist was a huge homage in The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It. With Father Gordon’s arrival to the Glatzel’s house.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master-

Director Chaves said in an interview with Bloody Disgusting [was the first one I saw, which was the one with the waterbed. Which, yes, this is a shameless reference to that movie,”

The Shinning:

Shortly after Ed Warren is “possessed” by the Occultist towards the end of the film, he picks up a hammer and begins running through the tunnels looking for Lorraine. This whole sequence is a total love letter to The Shinning.

What do you think of the homages in The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It as well as the whole universe that’s known for its love letter to horror?

Also it should be known there were plenty of homages to Psycho throughout the entire film.
