A Glitch in The Matrix review

Synopsis:

Documentary filmmaker Rodney Ascher tackles this question “are we living in a simulation?” with testimony, philosophical evidence and scientific explanation in his for the answer.

Ah, The Matrix has always been a hot topic since it came out, including those wearing the shirt that says “The Matrix was a documentary”. Well, we examine that further here in A Glitch in The Matrix.

From Rodney Ascher, the co-director of Room 237 and The Nightmare two fantastic documentaries. They also did The El Duce Tapes which is so outlandish I won’t even touch it. Now it seems to me conspiracy theories seem to be these guys’ bread and butter. This one, however, is one of those documentaries that drags on and on.

Half of this documentary works as a quirky comedy especially with the Phillip K Dick segments, which may be the films saving grace. The other half is so tedious it becomes insufferable and made me want to turn it off for no redeeming factors involved.

Look, this documentary will come down to all that you believe in as an individual. I for one am no conspiracy theorist. Not to say I fully hated the movie, I thought it could have been cut down to 70 minutes and been fine.

Overall grade: 2/5 stars
