Promising Young Woman Review- One of the best genre films of the year

Promising Young Woman is one of my favorite genre films of the year! While it may not be a flat out horror piece, it does shit tones from horror and suspense throughout the movie. Think Murder By Numbers a little bit. It has been shifted tremendously throughout the year, thanks to Covid-19 and the hype train for Promising Young Woman kept gaining momentum which is a career-best performance, and an Oscar-Worthy from Carey Mulligan!

There’s a lot of things going on with the scenery you’ll have to pay attention to potential metaphors throughout Promising Young Woman, which is why I loved it so much. There’s a lot of vegetables with deserts going on with the directing from Killing Eve’s Emerald Fennell which is a phenomenal directing debut that is also Oscar Worthy. There’s plenty of bold plot twist and chances they take in Promising Young Woman that a lot of teams won’t take chances on. So hats off to Margot Robbie and the team for producing this.

This movie is also boosted by A LIST cameos from Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Clancy Brown(who is so fantastic as the father), Max Greenfield, Adam Brody, Molly Shannon, and the excellent Alfred Molina. Everybodies performances in this is so perfectly cast including the charming Bo Burnham. Overall in my opinion Promising Young Woman is one of the top five genre films of 2020.

Overall grade: 4/5 stars
