Patrick Wilson is set to make his directorial debut with Insidious 5. We’ve been hearing talks about a potential fifth chapter of the Insidious franchise for quite some time, while the first Insidious is a master class of how to make a PG-13 truly terrifying, the other installments didn’t live up to the original. They all were fun in their own right.
Jason Blum is providing a Halloween themed panel on Blumhouse and this announcement came via that fansite panel. While I am not a Blumhouse fan per say, I am interested that Patrick Wilson will finally get to behind the camera and he’s learned from watching the master of horror James Wan himself.
The film will pick up with the Lamberts 10 years after the last installment, as Dalton enters College.
Patrick Wilson seemed pretty excited with his statement about directing the fifth chapter.
“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next Insidious installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices. Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story. Into the further, we go”
