Raised By Wolves(HBO Max) Review

Raised by Wolves is HBO Max’s new tv show that is looking to be a real home run. At first glance I wasn’t too impressed by the first three episodes of the Ridley Scott produced series. However, midway through the fourth episode things started to really heat up for the series and my golly it’s really fun to watch.

The set designs are made for the biggest screen possible, say what you will about how Christopher Nolan uses IMAX film, but man he must’ve been inspired by Ridley Scott for his filmmaking. This is really an actors, actors show as well. As it feels like a science fiction western. Think Firefly but way more serious in tone and much more androids raising children.

This may not be HBO’s next big thing since Game Of Thrones ended, Lovecraft Country is looking to be that next big great series… What Raised By Wolves accomplishes is no small feet, however, it feels like an epic science fiction movie each episode. You may be the opposite of me and love the series right off the bat. It had to grow on me and I’m glad I stuck with it.

The acting is also superb and should get nominated for golden globes next year as one of HBO Max’s future critical darlings. I really hope a lot of people take into Raised By Wolves. It will be worth the time investment put into it.

Overall grade: 3.5/5 stars
