Hulu Announces October date for Books of Blood

From Seth McFarland and Clive Barker comes a new vision of Books of Blood and here’s hoping it will become a franchise and much better than the previous misguided 2009 adaptation that went straight-to-DVD.

Last year it was brought to our attention, Brannon Braga (“The Orville”) directed Books of Blood for Hulu, named after the six volumes of original Clive Barker stories that were published in the mid-’80s. Braga also co-wrote and executive produced the film, with Seth MacFarlane on board to executive produce alongside him

The previously announced cast includes Andy McQueen (Fahrenheit 451), Freda Foh Shen (Ad Astra), Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest), Anna Friel (Marcella), Britt Robertson (For the People), Rafi Gavron (A Star Is Born) and Yul Vazquez (Midnight, Texas).

Hulu was originally thinking of turning this into a series but I’m glad they went a movie instead. Are you excited for a new Clive Barker adaptation?

Premieres October 7th, 2020
