Swallow Review

Swallow is a new film by Carlo Mirabella-Davis starring Haley Bennet. For me, it was a little bit of a mixed bag, I really loved Haley Bennet’s performance but I wasn’t totally in love with the movie itself, to me, the pacing was a little slow and the narrative was uneven and I believe that the finished product suffered from that.

Even at a 90-minute run time, the movie felt like it lagged from time to time. Leaving the viewing wondering if it was fully worth the visit. However, Haley did a fantastic carrying the film if it wasn’t for her I don’t think I would have stayed invested in the movie as long as I was.

Knowing that most of the mainstream wants a fast-paced horror film with lots of action, I don’t know how most would react to this one. It was a mixed bag for sure but it had a stellar performance from Haley Bennet.

A young housewife in a seemingly perfect marriage develops pica, the irresistible urge to ingest inedible objects and material.
