Lionsgate moves Chris Rock’s Saw Reboot up 5 months early

So after Blumhouse announced its two Halloween sequels it makes perfect sense that Lionsgate would move Saw up but five months shows their believe in the new installment. Set to star Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson and Saw veteran DLB comes back to direct which makes it very excited as a Saw fan I remember playing hooky one day from School and binge watching Saw 1-4 back in 2008. The new release date is May 15th 2020. This is going against the norm of Saw movies that used to be annually released in the month of October which is why this move comes as a shock to most of us covering the genre.

Chris Rock will play a police detective investigating a series of grisly crimes and Samuel L. Jackson will portray Rock’s father, Bloody Disgusting first reported. Also joining the cast will be Max Minghella (Horns, The Darkest Hour) who will play William Schenk, Rock’s partner and Marisol Nichols (Scream 2, “Riverdale”) will play Capt. Angie Garza, Rock’s boss.

There’s still no word if Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw will be making an appearance.
