Legendary indie filmmaker Larry Cohen has passed away today

He made great films such as It’s Alive, The Stuff and cult classic films such as Q: The Winged Serpent. He was a true maverick in the film industry. Aside from his directing credits he also wrote the Maniac Cop series which has been in a remake development. He also wrote Phone Booth which starred Colin Farrell(in one of his best early roles) Cellular(which gave us Captain America Mr. Chris Evan’s and Jason Statham).

A documentary dedicated to Cohen’s filmmaking legacy, King Cohen, was released in 2018. It is now streaming on Shudder if you have a subscription.

Larry was 77.
