The Doctor Sleep release date has been moved to this year

The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep jumps from January 24, 2020 to this year, on November 8, as the Burbank lot gives a major vote of confidence to the Mike Flanagan-directed Stephen King adaptation. Trevor Macy and Jon Berg produce.

This is an interesting choice to put Mike Flannigan’s film in the midst of award season this must be a huge sign of confidence in the film, shifting the release from January 2020 to this November.

The synopsis for Doctor Sleep is.

Struggling with alcoholism, Danny Torrance remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel when he was a child. He soon finds a new purpose when he forms a psychic connection with a girl who shares his shining ability.
