If you were worried about the Resident Evil 2 remake not being like the original classic and having a bunch of extra content to justify its $60 price, it’s not.
If you’re familiar with Capcom’s original Resident Evil 2, you will know that each character’s playthrough was about 5 hours. So, you would have about 10hrs of gameplay to complete both playthroughs. Well, it’s going to take this long again and that was confirmed by the games director Kazunori Kadoi.
Though each storyline does have some overlap and isn’t entirely unique the game will not have a bunch of extra content added to it to pick up on hours. In terms of recent games, that take a helluva long time to beat with all the extra story lines, it’s good to know that Capcom is sticking with the older formula.
Most survival horror games tend to be shorter than most games. But with at least 10hrs of content and a little extra stuff added in there I don’t think gamers will have a problem with the game. It’s a remake and that’s what they did. They remade Resident Evil 2 for the new generation of consoles for new players to enjoy and old players to enjoy again as well.
Resident Evil is set to release January 25 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
