The third installment of The Conjuring franchise isn’t set to be released until September 2020.
Although the film is a while out – with a third [untitled] Annabelle movie due out beforehand in 2019 – the internet is a buzz with recently addressed information regarding the movie’s plot.
According to “Bloody Disgusting”, The Conjuring producer James Wan has stated that the third movie (the seventh in the Conjuring universe) will get back to the intention of the original films.
The Annabelle films and The Nun were movies that horror enthusiasts at least somewhat enjoyed.
(Disclaimer: I enjoy each of the films for their own brand of entertainment.) However, the third film will stray away from possessed relics and once again peer into one of the Warrens’ “true story” paranormal case files.
Wan is quoted as saying the following about the plot: “It’s this guy who was on trial for committing a murder. I think it’s the first time in America’s history where the defendant used possessions as a reason, as an excuse.”
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will once again portray the Warrens and share with us a haunting story, hopefully one that excites us as much as the original.
A possessed doll and ancient nun may be frightening, but the idea of human possession and the effects of such an event could be even more terrifying.
