Friday the 13th in talks to be rebooted by NBA all star Lebron James

Halloween has dominated the box office over the weekend and with its success horror fans are eagerly awaiting other iconic slasher franchises to get the reboot treatment. Especially one franchise more than the others. Friday the 13th.

Well, horror fans may just get their wishes granted. As of Monday a new report according to Bloody Disgusting is stating that none other than Lebron James and his Springhill Entertainment company are currently in talks with Vertigo Entertainment to produce a new Friday the 13th movie.

James is currently making some moves in the entertainment industry and is currently involved with the upcoming SPACE JAM sequel. He is set to star and produce alongside Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther. Lebron James production company Springhill Entertainment will be behind the picture.

Now seems like a pretty good time to successfully reboot the Friday the 13th franchise after the success that a lot of horror films have had in the last couple years. Stephen Kings It did very well at the box office and has a sequel currently in production and Halloween has had a very successful opening weekend with a $77.5 million opening domestically.

Here’s to hoping that after a lengthy battle over the rights to Friday the 13th pays off and we see a great, successful return of one of the most iconic slashers.
