John Krasinski is returning to write the sequel in a big way.
He is writing the screenplay based off of an original idea he has. Krasinski made his directorial debut with ‘A Quiet Place’ with critical acclaim and success and now, he is coming back for the sequel.
Funny enough, he almost gave the keys to someone else. Krasinski didn’t feel like his idea would translate with the studio so he told them to go to someone else. With further thought, the idea expanded and now he is writing the sequel. Even though Bryan Woods and Scott Beck wrote the original script, Krasinski was the one that brought in the idea of the beginning death scene and the use of sign language.
There are no details on the story so no details have surfaced just yet. Paramount Studios is probably excited to get a sequel going considering ‘A Quiet Place’ grossed $332 million dollars worldwide, with a budget of $17 million. Whether or not Krasinski will make the sequel a team effort or he’ll helm the project himself, only time will tell. ‘A Quiet Place 2’ is aiming for a summer release of May 15, 2020.
