On the heels of the success of the newest version of Stephen King’s psychological thriller It, Warner Bros. has elected to bring another of King’s fan favorites – The Shining– into the theatre.
Unlike the reimagining ofIt, however, the film company has elected to green light a sequel ofThe Shining entitled Doctor Sleep.
Any fan of the original will recall Danny Torrence (originally played by Danny Lloyd) narrowly escaping the Overlook Hotel sans father.
The film, directed by Mike Flanagan and starring Ewan McGregor, promises to focus on Danny Torrence’s life as an adult, mired by alcoholism and anger, as he tries to live life after a tragedy-ridden childhood.
