Would You Rather, released in 2012 and directed by David Guy Levy, is currently playing on Netflix.
Although the film has a 5.7 (out of 10) star rating on imdb, the overall psychological component is one that makes the movie worthwhile to see.
People often consider what they would do for a certain amount of financial stability, prestige, or fame. One’s mind may also allow itself to go deep into the abyss of self actualization, and consider what he/she would do in extreme circumstances.
Would you run into a burning house for your child? Your spouse? Parent? Sibling? Neighbor? Stranger?
If someone was robbing another at gunpoint, for whom would you be willing to attempt to be the hero?
This film has that sort of intrigue. As each round of the game of “would you rather” intensifies, the acts the characters carry out become more brutal.
Many people dismiss this film, but take a moment to rewatch it (or watch it for the first time) and consider what you may be able to do for the people you love the most and for survival.
