This week Paramount and developer Saver Interactive reminded us that a video game based on the movie WORLD WAR Z is on its way.
A new trailer offering glimpses of the gameplay has been released features the mowing down of hordes of zombies. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC later this year.
The video shows a group of survivors in one of the games locations, Moscow. The group is setting up mounted machine guns and building barricades to face off against an incoming horde of zombies. The game takes place across several locations including New York and Jerusalem. Saber Interactive has pitched that the World War Z is primarily a four-player co-op action game that seems to take inspiration from the original World War Z novel and focusing on “survivor stories and missions around the world.”
Saber Interactive is known for Quake Champions, Timeshift and Inversion. World War Z was first revealed at last years Game Awards show.
A sequel to World War Z is also in the works. Brad Pitt is set to return and David Fincher will be in the directors chair the time around.
World War Z is a four-player co-op game inspired by Paramount’s blockbuster film, WORLD WAR Z.
World War Z’s co-op campaign features a variety of survivor stories and missions around the globe, including New York, Moscow and Jerusalem. Using traps, barriers and the environment strategically to survive while unleashing storms of firepower with an array of weapons on hordes of the undead, World War Z is sure to be a unique experience in the zombie genre for gamers.
