A Quiet Place, the surprise hit of paramount made $160.5 million domestic and $256.1 million worldwide, from just a $17 million budget. We all knew, after seeing these numbers that a sequel was inevitable.
While being at CinemaCon, Paramount has made an announcement that the fans will enjoy: A Quiet Place sequel is officially in the works. While we don’t know if John Krasinsky, director and “Lee Abbott in the film, will be back as the director, he opened up at what the sequel would focus on.
The thing that I loved in the movie, where my mind kept wandering as we were making it, was the question of who was on the other end of those fires, when the father lights the fire and in the distance those other fires light up. How did those people survive? How did that old man survive? In the extreme these characters are going through, there’s no room to think about that. They’re there, there’s an old man who’s about to scream, they just have to deal with that. I think it would be interesting to see what’s going on elsewhere at this same time.”
While Paramount is working on the sequel, we have no idea yet if the original cast and writers are going to be back in A Quiet Place 2.
